It’s not every day that you get to brand a castle. Civitella Ranieri is an artist residency housed in a medieval castle in the Umbria region of Italy. They host artists from around the world, exposing them to the history and rich artistic heritage of the Italian countryside. The residency fosters a spirit of collaboration and sharing that consistently produces some amazing work.
Work included branding, signage, collateral and product.

This is one of my favorite logos I’ve designed. I created a custom alphabet based on a very old Dutch typeface by Jan Van Krimpen. The open stems suggest connection, transparency and openness.
