Access and Preservation

Access and Preservation

2017-present

An ongoing investigation of the relationship between access and preservation in public lands and how our experiences of these places are mediated by infrastructure or lack thereof. I’m very interested in how the presence of humans and our ability to give meaning and shape to our environment creates—or doesn’t—what Marc Augé calls a non-place—an anonymous space where identity is removed and real meanings and places are replaced with a prescribed simulacrum.
